Saturday nights in Expat quarters

in the Old Naval Hospital.

Parents laughing and casting off the cares of the week

around a large table playing canston

and poker with coins from the Big Bottle

whilst we kids huddled in pyjamas

telling ghost stories in the wards

off the haunted hospital corridor.
