
Biography
Jill Turner (b. 1971) is a British born, Australian artist with an evolving sketching, painting and writing practice. Jill aims to explore and celebrate the beauty, diversity and developing identity of Western Australia and the humans that call it home. Jill's current painting work Project focus for 2025 is: Painterly Portals for Time-Travellers.
Her arts practice is informed by extensive global travel and 30 years working in health promotion (London, UK), youth and community development and occupational therapy. She has many years of paid and voluntary community arts project management practice, including developing an arts based not for profit for young carers, three years as Youth Arts Manager at Fairbridge Festival of World and Folk Music and most recently, supporting the West Australian Society of Arts monthly Events and assisting facilitate the 129th Annual Arts Exhibition.
As a compass, Jill has a personal commitment to promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals THE 17 GOALS | Sustainable Development
She has been married for 30 years to Martin, an IT Architect. They were both 'student reps' at Royal Holloway, University of London. They have two grown up boys, Alex and Joshua who live nearby with partners and a large extended family in Perth and Albany.
